Jeanette Acres Obituary

Lila Jeanette Acres, age 87 of Oneida, TN passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at her home. She was born in Crab Orchard, KY on December 24, 1934. She graduated from East Tennessee Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1956 and was one of the original staff members at Scott County Hospital and worked there for 27½ years. In the early 80's, she helped bring the first home healthcare agency into Scott County and worked with home health for 11 years until her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Huntsville and was a faithful servant in the Lord. She went on eight medical and evangelistic mission trips throughout the world to Asia, Africa, Central America, South America, and Europe.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years of marriage, Charles H. Acres; parents, Rev. Willie Melvin Hubbard and Zola Anderson Hubbard; sister, Wilda Perrin; stepdaughter, Mildred Ann Houston and husband Rodney Houston; and stepson, Charles M. Acres.

She is survived by her sons, James Melvin Acres and Brandi of Green Cove Springs, FL and Kevin Acres and Lorie of Oneida, TN; sister, Barbra Cowern and Donald of Daytona Beach, FL; brother-in-law, Phil Perrin of Boiling Springs, NC; step daughter-in-law: Carrie Lynn Acres; grandchildren, Ashley Reed and husband Brian, Ryan Acres and wife Hailey, Katie Heisler and husband Shane, Sunni Acres-Boyce and husband Michael, Joshua Acres, Sloan Houston and wife Kari, Blain Houston and wife Toni, Ethan Acres, Harley Acres and Dylin Acres; special cousin, Juel Solomon; nine great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Acres family on Sunday, July 3, 2022 from 4:30 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Terry and Bro. Tim Smith officiating.

Committal service will follow in the Carson Memorial Park in Oneida. Pallbearers will be: Roger Ward, Tim Smith, Mark Matthews, Tommy Wright, Bryan Chambers, and Ted Williams.
