Mr. Jerry L. Birchfield, age 71 of Huntsville, TN passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Tennova Healthcare in LaFollette, TN. Born in Scott County, TN on September 19, 1950, he was the son of the late Hugh B. and Hattie Mae (Hill) Birchfield. He was a native of Scott County and a graduate of Scott High School. Jerry was a member of the First Baptist Church in Huntsville, TN. He retired from Hartco/Armstrong where he was employed for nearly 48 years. He loved going flea marketing and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Brummett; brothers, Tom, Thurston, Carl, and Jeffery Birchfield; infant grandson, Keelyn Hugh Birchfield; and mother of his children, Linda Barnes Sexton.
Jerry is survived by a daughter, Michelle Birchfield and Denny Newport of Huntsville, TN; son, Chad Birchfield and Laura Jo Vanover of Helenwood, TN; sisters, Judy Birchfield and husband Mark of Richmond, VA and June Nicdao and husband Audie of Rockvale, TN; brothers, Homer Birchfield of Oneida, TN and Fred Birchfield and wife Charlene of Sunbright, TN. Jerry also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Chase Blevins of Huntsville, TN, Dakota Blevins and Kelsey Lynn of Flint, MI, Taylor Birchfield and fiancé Adam Davis of Huntsville, TN, Madison Birchfield of Huntsville, Holden Birchfield and Brystol Birchfield of Helenwood, TN; 5 great grandchildren, Amaria Blevins and Aubrey Blevins of Huntsville, TN and Daxton, Tymber and Archer Blevins of Flint, MI; many other relatives and friends.
Jerry was truly one of a kind and will be missed dearly by everyone that knew him.
Friends may visit with the Birchfield family on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Carlie Duncan officiating.
Committal service will follow in the Foster Crossroads Cemetery in the Grave Hill community. Pallbearers will be: Homer Birchfield, Audie Nicdao, Chase Blevins, Dakota Blevins, Denny Newport, and Adam Davis.
