Jewel Faye Woodward

Jewel Faye Woodward, age 70 of Huntsville, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the North Knoxville Medical Center in Powell, TN, with her son by her side.  Born May 11, 1954, in Anderson County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Irene Daugherty Hicks and George McGinnis.  Jewel was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, niece, aunt, and friend.  Her family, animals, friends and Lord were her world.  She was saved and baptized as a young lady at the Capital Hill Baptist Church, and later attended Little Charity Church.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband:  Dennis Ellis, brother:  Billy C. Parton, and sister:  Lisa Rose Hicks; uncles:  Austin Daugherty and Ishmael Daugherty; and cousins:  Vince Daugherty and Brian Daugherty.

Jewel is survived by her sons:  Tim Ellis of Scott County, TN, and Jody Ellis and wife Stephanie of Gilmer County, GA; sisters:  Patsy Hicks and Teresa Freytag, both of Oneida, TN; brother:  Kenneth Wade Parton of SC; aunts:  Wanda Terry and husband Dorsey, and Faye Daugherty, all of Oneida, TN; granddaughter LaDawn Marion and great grandson Brantley Ellis, both of OH; grandsons:  Tyler and Luke Ellis, great granddaughter Isla Ellis and great grandson Archie Ellis, all of GA; special cousin Brayden Daugherty and special friend Tim Freytag, both of Oneida, TN; as well as many other family members and friends.

Friends may visit with the Woodward family on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Jamie Duvall officiating.  

Committal service will follow in the Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery in Robbins, TN.  Pallbearers will be:  Tim Freytag, Jordon Laxton, Brayden Daugherty, Tyler Ellis, Colby Byrd, and Eric Epperson.
