Jimmy Yancey, age 62 of Oneida, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Born in Scott County, Tennessee on January 28, 1958. He is the son of Bernard and Bessie Hughes Yancey.
He was a member of the Outreach Church of God.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Yancey: brother, DouglasYancey: grandparents, Lemuel and Ethel Yancey and Joseph and Carrie Hughes.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Yancey; son, Chris Yancey and wife Bo; daughter, Lori Christopher and husband David; his mother, Bessie Yancey: sister, Karen Griffith and husband Donald; grandchildren, Moriah Stephens, Stone Yancey, Brody Yancey, Rygel Yancey, and Jep Yancey. He also leaves many other relatives and friends.
It saddens our hearts, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic and our goal to protect our family and friends, we have chosen not to have a visitation or public service. We will post a virtual service online at a later time, so we can share with all those that love and care for our loved one and our family.
A private family service will be held with Bro. Joe West officiating.
Music will be provided by Allen Carson and the Neal Family.
A Committal service will follow in the Carson Memorial Park in Oneida.
Serving as pallbearers: Jody Harness, Randell Duncan, Adrian Baird, Curley Sexton, Dean Gochenour, and Jordan Massengale.
