Karen Lynn Terry Obituary

Karen Lynn Byrge Terry, age 57, of Oneida took her final journey to be with her Lord and Savior on December 30, 2022, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 29, 1965, to Howard Daniel Sr. and Colleen (Gunther) Byrge. She was raised in the Brimstone community and attended Scott High School. Karen loved her Lord and Savior deeply and was a faithful member of Pine Hill United Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Karen is preceded in death by her brothers, Howard Daniel “Buddy” Byrge Jr. & Daniel Vern Byrge, nephew, Chadwick Glenn Byrge, sister-in-law Carolyn Ann Byrge, and father-in-law, Ralph Terry.

Karen is survived by her husband of 37 years, caretaker, best friend, and love of her life, Randal Terry; sons, Justin Terry and wife Jacque of Oneida, and Zachary Terry and wife Katie of Crossville; her grandbabies (her angels, as she so often referred to them) Ryan, Zoey, Raegan, Ramsey, Brody, Luke, and Grady; brothers: James (Mitzi) Byrge of Huntsville, Dennis (Karen) Byrge of Helenwood, Harold (Brenda) Byrge of Robbins, and Bobby Byrge of Robbins; sisters: Sharon (Freddie) Lowe of Oneida, Tammie Jo (Keiff) Ellis of Chatsworth, GA, and Jessica Byrge of Oneida; Mother-in-law Dessie Terry; Sisters-in-law: Marilyn Byrge of Helenwood, Reada (Crawford) Stephens of Oneida; Brothers-in-law: Tony (Tiffany) Terry of Oneida, and Adam (Nancy) Terry of Oneida, as well as many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Karen’s loving, caring, and generous spirit was felt by all who knew her. Whether you knew her for a minute or a lifetime, you just know there’ll never be another like her. She enjoyed Oneida football, where she was a second momma to many of the players from 2005-2012 and loved the Georgia Bulldogs. There’s absolutely nothing on this earth she loved more than her family, especially her angels. She enjoyed spoiling them all tremendously and was the type of Nana/Mamaw that never let them forget how much she loved them.

Friends may visit with the Terry family on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Norman Burke officiating. Music will be provided by Marilyn Bryge, Logan Fults, and the Pine Hill United Baptist Church Youth Group.
