Katelyn Beth (Smith) Yarbrough

Katelyn Beth Smith-Yarbrough, age 28, of Richmond, Kentucky gained her wings September 11, 2021, at UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Katie entered this world October 21, 1992, in Corbin, Kentucky. Katie was the daughter of Rebecca Banks-Tye and Phil Smith. Katie enjoyed painting, exploring nature, and was an avid animal lover/advocate. 

Katelyn was preceded in death by her Papaw: William “Ben” Newport of the Winona Community; her Pap and Garr, Sam and Jane Smith of Tompkinsville, KY; uncle: Jimmy Banks and aunt Missy Banks of the Winona Community; her loving stepfather: Alan Tye of Corbin, KY; aunt: Kathy Bryant; cousin: Krystal Bryant of Corbin, KY; grandmother: Jewel Reeder of Pensacola, FL. 

Katelyn will remain in the hearts of her sons: Jagger Kross Keeling of Richmond, KY and Atikus Kross Norfleet of Monticello, KY; her parents: Rebecca Banks-Tye (Joseph Reeder) of Richmond, KY and Phil Smith (Kimberly Jo) of FL; her brother: Sam Smith (Keisha) of the Robbins community; sisters: Allison Chambers (Slayten) of Richmond, KY, Jackie Tye of Richmond, KY, and Sheila Sanders (Freddie and family of Louisville, KY; her nieces and nephew: Athena Katelyn Chambers, Jazmin and Preston Smith; her Mamaw: Wanda Newport of the Winona Community; grandparents: Ed and Sam Tye of Corbin, KY, her aunts: Lisa Banks, Patty Jeffers (Jason), Lora Lay, all of the Winona community, Annie York (Joey) of the Robbins community, and Sharon Ogwyn (JR) of Pensacola, FL; and many other loving relatives, 

Katelyn was married to the love of her life, Matt Yarbrough and will always remain in his heart. 

Friends may visit with the Yarbrough family on Thursday, September 16, 2021, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Buffalo United Church of Winona. Funeral services will be on Friday, September 17, 2021, at 11am at Buffalo United Church of Winona with Bro. Dudley Harness and Bro. Gary Griffith officiating. Committal service will follow in the William Newport Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be: J.R. Bruce, Canaan Lay, Jon Massengale, Chris Newport, Ethan Spradlin, and Kolton Goad. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Smith, Joey York, Jason Jeffers, Ronald “Moose" Massengale, Dillard Massengale, and Joel Newport.
