Katherine "Kathy Jo" Griffith

Katherine Jo Jeffers Griffith, age 63, departed this life peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. She was born on May 12, 1962, to Ronnie Jeffers and the late Donna Jeffers. Katherine, better known as “Kathy Jo” to friends and “Momma Jo” to her grandchildren.

Kathy Jo found joy in the things she loved most – her family, traveling, and music. She especially loved the band BTS, whose music brought her happiness and comfort. She enjoyed exploring new places and making memories along the way, but nothing meant more to her than time spent with her family. Whether cheering on her children and grandchildren or simply being together, Kathy Jo’s love and devotion to her family were at the heart of her life.

Along with her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents: Lawton and Evelyn Jeffers and Helen Lotz.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Griffith; children: Aleisha Byrd and husband David Byrd and Carlie Jo Griffith and Ethan Harbin; grandchildren: Mia Liming, Ty Duncan, Colton Byrd, Mikhia Duncan, and Kayleigh Byrd; siblings: Kimberly Pike and Nancy Chirico; stepmother: Trudy Jeffers; nephews: Dalton Pike and Dallas Pike; special friend: Colleen Hoffman; many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Griffith family on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. David Brewster officiating. Music will be provided by Jim Heath.

After the service, Kathy Jo’s wishes were to be cremated.
