Kathleen Phillips Obituary

Kathleen Phillips, age 61 of Helenwood, TN went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at her home. Born in Scott County, TN on August 28, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Polie and Mary Elsie Phillips. She was a born again Christian and loved working for her Lord. Her hobbies were sewing and making quilts, painting, and doing arts and crafts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Phillips; four sisters, Thelma Edith Chitwood, Reba Bowling, Wilma Jean Phillips, and Judy Carol Phillips; father and mother-in-law, Oscar Phillips and Winnie Phillips; niece, Heather Rena Bowling; and nephew, Johnny Chitwood.

Kathleen is survived by two sisters, Annie Duncan and husband James of Cherry Fork and Josephine Bowling and husband Arthur of Robbins; special nephew, Jamie Bowling; her nieces and nephews whom she claimed as her children and caregivers, Gary Phillips, Betty Jo Phillips, Pam Hill, Mikey Phillips, Michelle Phillips, also Debbie and Rick Russ, and Fayetta Phillips; two brothers, Leroy Phillips of Winfield and Arnold Phillips and wife Jenny of Oneida, TN; special friends, Cheryl Black of Johnson City and pa and ma Joe and Jean Patterson of Oneida; many other nieces and nephews, family members and friends.

The family would like to say thanks to those who helped with Kathleen. Special thanks to Gary, Betty Jo, Mikey and Michelle, and Fayetta Phillips – we love you all.

Friends may visit with the Phillips family on Monday, April 24, 2023 from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Jody Harness officiating. Music will be provided by Jamie Bowling and the Phillips Family Trio.

Committal service will follow in the Daniel Memorial Cemetery in Helenwood. Pallbearers will be: Gary Phillips, Mikey Phillips, Jody Harness, Jamie Bowling, and Elbert Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be: Roger Phillips and Arthur Bowling.
