Lana Ruth (Duncan) Sams

Lana Ruth Sams, née Duncan, age 79 of Winfield, TN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center following a long illness.  Born on February 3, 1946, Lana was the daughter of the late Goldman Delbert and Jenetta Cross Duncan.  She was a member of the New Light Baptist Church, and graduate of Richmond High School in IN.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James H. Sams; and her brother and sister-in-law: Darrell and Bea Duncan.

Lana will be deeply missed by her daughters: Chrissy Snyder (husband Harry Snyder) and Scotti Ringley (husband Kurt Ringley); her cherished grandchildren:  Kyle Ringley, Gabby Ringley, and Max Snyder; and her sister and brother-in-law:  Sharon and Jim Tudor; and cousins whom she thought of like her siblings:  Pam Jones, Brenda Chitwood, Judy Fults, and Bruce Duncan.  She also leaves behind many treasured cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who loved her greatly.  The family extends their gratitude to all who offered love and support during this difficult time.

Friends may visit with the Sams family on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Fults and Bro. Chad Jones officiating.  Music will be provided by:  Pam Jones, Brenda Chitwood and Jordan Hughett.

Committal service will follow in the Cross Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be:  Eric Chitwood, Bruce Duncan, Harry Snyder, Kurt Ringley, Max Snyder and Joe Duncan.
