Larry Allen Watson Obituary

Larry Allen Watson, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at the University of TN Hospital in Knoxville, TN.  Born December 4, 1946, he was the son of the late Robert Andrew Watson and Mattie Bernice (Sheppard) Watson-Haddock.  Larry was of the Baptist Faith, a member of the Oneida Municipal Golf Course, and a United States Army Veteran.

Larry is survived by his daughter:  Jill Marling and husband Ron; grandson:  Aidan Marling; former wife and good friend:  Pat Smith Watson; brother:  Anthony Watson and wife Kelly; niece:  Chandler Watson; nephew:  Peyton Watson; special aunt:  Imogene Smith; special friend and companion:  Sharon Strunk; many special cousins, friends, and other relatives; and numerous special golf friends he played with so often.

Friends may visit with the Watson family on Friday, October 22, 2021, from 1:30 p.m. until time of funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Chitwood and Bro. Kermit Phillips officiating.  Music will be provided by the Chitwood Family.

Burial will follow in the Ike Smith’s Family Cemetery in the Black Oak Community of Oneida, TN with full Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.  Pallbearers will be:  Scott Smith, Tyler Smith, Bo Smith, Daryl Smith, Tim Smith, and Jerry Dale Smith.  Honorary Pallbearers will be:  his grandson:  Aidan Marling,  friends:  Jeremy Barnes, Donnie Brown, Sam Farris, Greg King, Quinton Lowe, Burt Sexton, Jerry Lewis, James Baker, Phil Newport, Joe Potter, Donnie Davis, Sid Seals, J. D. Lay, Art Jeffers, Chase Slaven, Kenny Phillips, Michael Martin, Dewayne Potter, John Charles Lay, Gene Failor and Dustin Lay.
