Larry Henry Storey, age 79, of Robbins, Tennessee, went to be home with Jesus on Sunday, December 1, 2024. Born in Scott County, TN, on June 1st, 1945, he was the son of the late Lloyd Virgil and Ollie Goad Storey. Henry’s life was characterized by his deep compassion and his readiness to assist others. He was a beloved member of Black Creek Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church.
Henry loved being outdoors and working with his hands. As his career, he worked for the Tennessee Department of Agriculture Forestry Division fighting forest fires and promoting fire prevention and safety. Although Henry did not have any biological children, over his years he stepped in and played the “Father and Grandfather Figure” to many. Henry was the kind of person who was always eager to lend a helping hand. His assistance often came when it was least expected but most appreciated.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Rheba Storey Kellenbaugh, Roxie Julie Storey Hamby, Verlie Mae Storey, Patricia Storey Christen, and Frances Storey Anderson; brothers: Lloyd Virgil Storey, Jr., James Harold Storey and Jackie Lawrence Storey and 4 infant siblings.
Henry is survived by his sisters, Marjorie Storey Bunn, and Phyllis Storey Winslow; brothers: Frank (Louie) Storey, and Walter (Wayne) Storey; brother-in-law, Russell Christen and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews which included Dwight, Billie, Gween, Mike (Stephanie), Andy (Tammi), Jody, Dale, Trisha, Joey, Scott (Nikki), Justin, Gabe, Cassie, Daniel, Tiffany (Mitch), Adam, Jessie, Gabby, Alex, Gracie (Isiah), Emily (Caden), Jayden, Sara, Blaze, Kambri, Micah, and Stephanie Ann; many other relatives and friends. Special friends: Lisa and William Lawson.
Friends may visit with the Storey family on Friday, December 6, 2024 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. at the Black Creek Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Jerry Byrge and Bro. Joe Walker officiating. Music will be provided by the Black Creek Crossroads Church choir.
Committal service will follow in the Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery in Robbins. Pallbearers will be: Frank Storey, Wayne Storey, Scott Christen, Sara Morrell, Mitch Hamilton, Isiah Watson, and Caden Duncan.
