Laura Abbott

Laura Bell Thomas Abbott, age 88, departed this life on Monday, August 29, 2022, in Calhoun, GA. Born in Kentucky on June 22, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Melton and Irene Thomas. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Odis Abbott; the father of her children, Clarence Henry; infant son, Lewis Hall Henry; daughter, Kathleen Fagans and husband Lee Roy Fagans of Georgia; sons, George Allen Henry and wife Rochelle Henry of Rockhouse and Danny Ray Henry and wife Bertha May Henry of Straight Fork; stepdaughter, Cheryl Abbott; and son-in-law, Jimmy Hayes of Florida.

She is survived by her children, Thomas Clarence Henry and wife Rita of Georgia, Joanne Taylor and husband Mark of Georgia, James Henry of Texas, Mary Helen Hayes of Florida, William Marshall Henry and wife Denise of Oneida, Mark Edward Henry of Oneida, Lawrence Dewayne Henry and wife Kim of Straight Fork, Beverly June Parks and husband Bobby of Georgia; 5 stepchildren, Rita Henry, Nancey Abbott, Charles Abbott, Faye Abbott, JR Abbott; 34 grandchildren; and she was blessed with many great grandchildren, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 1 p.m. in the Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery with Bro. Ricky Sharpe officiating.
