Leland Harry Bond, age 64 of Oneida, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019 at his home. He was born February 3, 1955 in Scott County, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Lealon and Ruth Bond. He was a member of Annadell Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Dewey, James (Bob) and Jerry Bond; brothers-in-law, Willard Duncan, Tony and Timmy Bridges and Garry Massengale; sisters-in-law, Margie Bond, Harriett Lee Bond, Cathy Massengale and Amy Strunk; father and mother-in-law, Kermit and Doris Bridges; infant nephew, Garry Lee Massengale, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife: Phyllis Jean Bond; son, Jamie M. Bond and fiancé’ Robin; daughter, Christina G. Byrd and husband Phil Byrd, Jr, Samantha Bond and fiancé Brent Norris. He has 5 very special grandchildren Jamie Leann Hughett and husband Jordan of Winfield, Petty Officer 3rd class Phillip Byrd, Private Chloe Byrd, Brenley and Briland Norris; great granddaughter, Kyndall Byrd; brothers Harold Bond and wife Naomi of Ohio, Estel Bond and wife Wonnell of the Annadell Community, Eugene Bond of Oneida, Ralph Bond and wife Joann of the Pine Hill Community; sisters; Ruby Duncan and Joyce Ann Greene and husband Clifford; sisters-in-law; Rosaline Bond of Ohio, Paula Bond, and Margaret Bond of Oneida, Mary Chambers and husband Duane of the Straight Fork Community; brothers-in-law Jerry Bridges and wife Debbie of Florida, David Bridges and wife Ronnie of Oneida. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Bond family on Friday, August 23, 2019 from 6 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Dwight Stanley and Bro. Jordan Hughett officiating. Music will be provided by Paula Bond.
A committal service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Annadell Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Phillip Byrd, Brent Norris, Wayne Bond, Jonah Bond, Cody Bond, Chris Harness, Chris Copeland, and Bobby McCoy. Honorary pallbearer: Briland Norris
