Letha Slaven Obituary

Letha Mae Hill Slaven, age 77 went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 23, 2021. She was born on October 16, 1943.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ben and Wilda Hill; mother and father-in-law, James and Mavis Slaven; son-in-law, Billy R. Reynolds; sister and husband, Orangie and Bill Winchester; brothers, Robert Watson and wife Veda, Bill Hill; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dolly (Dee) and Denford King, Linda Slaven and James (Chig) West.

Letha is survived by her husband of 59 years, James Slaven, Jr.; kids, Bernice Reynolds, Jackie and wife Carolyn Slaven, Bonnie Hughett and fiancé Chris Wilson, Jimmy Slaven, Buffy and husband Edmond Harness, and Doris (D.J.) Slaven; sister-in-law, Shirley West; brother-in-law, Joe Slaven; grandkids, April, Chris, Keith, Fallon, Gabriel, Sterlin, Dalton, and Tucker; great grandkids, Caden, Kadence, Carley, Wyatt, Pistol, Ashlynn, Colt, Xavier, Dorian, Dallas, Tobie, Aroara, Maci, and Remmington; brothers and sisters, Jay Hill, Barbara Reynolds, Betty Brewer, Louise Bowling, Charity Babb, and Marilyn Foster; and a host of family and friends.

Friends may visit with the Slaven family on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home. 

Funeral service will be on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Don Kidd and Bro. Dudley Harness officiating. Music will be provided by Gene Allen Roysden.

Committal service will follow in the Slaven Cemetery. 

With the Health Guidelines in place at this time, we ask that you be mindful of the social distancing measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control. Masks are required.
