Lola Overton

Lola Overton, age 66 of Oneida, TN passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021, at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida, TN. She was born July 5, 1955, to Vela Slaven of Barbourville, KY, and the late Everette Blacky Overton. She was a member of the Hill Top Baptist Church and enjoyed attending often.

In addition to her father, Lola was preceded in death by here two daughters: Mary Smith and Jessica Smith; three brothers: Pharoah Overton, Adam Slaven and Jerry Overton; one sister: Helen Sweet; special nieces: Annie and Barbie.

In addition to her mother, Lola is survived by her two children: Tommy Joe Smith Jr. and wife Samantha of Gate City, Virginia, and Josh Shoopman and wife Angela of Jacksboro, TN; two grandchildren: William Burford of Louisville, KY and Shakira Shoopman of Oneida, TN; step-grandchildren: Shaylei Stevenson, Westley Wallen and Zakary Wallen, all of Jacksboro, TN, Christian Byington and wife Michelle, Cameron Byington and Aidan Byington, all of VA. one sister: Ella Mae Rose of Barbourville, KY; special friend: Sue Goodman, and many other special cousins, friends, and family members.

Friends may visit with the Overton family on Monday, December 20, 2021, from 1 p.m. until time of the Tribute of Life Service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. David Troxel officiating.  Music will be provided by Josh Shoopman.

Committal service will follow in the Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery in Robbins, TN.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.
