Lora Jones

Lora Jones, age 90 of Helenwood, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at the Big South Fork Medical Center. Born in Scott County, TN on February 8, 1929, she was the daughter of the late James Luther and Zena Reed Phillips. She was a member of Helenwood Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Claude Ray Jones; brothers, Virgil Phillips and wife Reba and Estle Phillips and wife Waunetta; sisters, Olga Clark and husband Wiley, Ruby Terry and husband Henry, Dee Smith and husband Dean, Reva Varner and husband Cecil, Flora Terry and Loma Wheat; brothers-in-law, Ernie Neal and Bob Blair.

Lora is survived by son, Gary Lee Jones and wife Georgia; daughter, Zena Rae Owens and husband Tim; sisters, Veryl Bynum and Eunice Neal; grandchildren, Amy LeAnn Jones, Josiah Samuel Jones and Gary Matthew Jones; great grandchildren, Gage, Chelsea, Chloe, Dameeka, Gracie, Charity, Joseph and Carter; and sister-in-law, Meredia Simpson and husband Nick; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Jones family on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Helenwood Baptist Church with Bro. Jim West officiating. Music will be provided by Keifer Goad, Lloyd and Arnold Stephens and the Helenwood Choir.

Burial will follow in the Carter-Phillips Cemetery in Helenwood, TN.
