Lucy Cloreda Marcum, age 88 of Oneida, TN passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at the Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Born in Oneida, TN on June 8, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Ollie Kidd Marcum. She was a member of the Big Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Billie, M.T., Esau “Bud” Marcum, and Gilbert (Arlee) Marcum; sisters, Shirley Jean Foster, Jewell Musgrove, Pauline Phillips, and Joyce Adams; brothers-in-law, Ira Lee Foster, Gene Musgrove, and Philip Adams; nephew, Ricky L. Foster; niece Frona Brown; and special friend and cousin, Gertrude Terry.
Lucy is survived by her brother, Jackie (JC) Marcum; special nieces, Katherine Ledford, Patricia Foster and special nephew, Richard Foster, who have been her caregivers for several years; many other nieces, nephews plus several special great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; her church family; many other family members and friends. Special thanks to her church family, to Parkwest Hospital and staff for their care in her last days, Amedysis Home Health staff, Craig (Fred) Dunford, Wendy Tapley Yancey, Sherrie Choate, Brandy Huff, and Tylina Butler; special friends, Shirley Rose West, Bob and Pat Hill; special friend from Oneida Senior Center, bus driver Virgil Cross.
Friends may visit with the Lucy Marcum family on Friday, December 31, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Ledford and Bro. Guy Ainsworth officiating. Music will be provided by the Big Ridge Missionary Baptist Church.
Committal service will follow in the Marcum-Kidd Cemetery in the Grave Hill community. Pallbearers will be: Jacob Ledford, Richard Foster, Travis Foster, Trevor Foster, Darien Foster, and David Brewster. Honorary pallbearers will be: Levi Foster and Virgil Cross.
