Luther Mitchell Burke

Luther Mitchell Burke, age 78, of Oneida, TN, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025, at his home.  Born July 5, 1946, in Oneida, he was the son of the late Mitchell Burke and Betty Wilda Phillips Burke Collins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife:  Melba Rose Ellis Burke; daughter:  Carmella Rose Burke King; sisters:  Beulah Mae Smith Posey, Eula Faye Blevins, and an infant sister.

Luther is survived by sons: Hank Burke of Oneida, and Johnathan Burke and Kim of London, KY; daughter:  Brandi Grant and Josh of Strunk, KY; grandsons:  Kenny King, Jr. and Ginger of Helenwood, TN, and Joshuwa Burke and Marcilla of London, KY; 9 great grandkids; brother:  Tim Burke and Vadina of Winfield, TN; sister-in-law:   Diane Sexton of Oneida; son-in-law:  Kenny King, Sr. of Pine Knot, KY; as well as many nieces, nephews, and a host of close family members and friends.

Friends may visit with the Burke family on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Norman Lee Burk and Bro. Keith Marcum officiating.  

Committal service will be followed in the Marcum-Kidd Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be:  Johnathan Burke, Hank Burke, Joshuwa Burke, Josh Grant, Kenny King, Sr., and Kenny King, Jr.
