Martha Lou Chambers

Martha Lou Chambers, age 75, entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 after a long battle with chronic lung disease. She was born in Oneida, Tennessee on February 28, 1950, and was the daughter of the late Sinclair and  Lessie (Bridges) Chambers. She attended Oneida School and worked for many years at Scott County Nursing Home and then Tennier Industries. She was an avid Elvis fan and loved country music, as well as animals, especially her dog Candy. She attended First Baptist Church of Oneida when her health would allow. She accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age at Pine Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Sinclair and Lessie Chambers, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Chambers and Dean Chambers, and three nephews Jonathan (Jody) Chambers, Greg Chambers and Ashley Thompson. 

She is survived by her sister Lucille (Roger) Thompson of Helenwood, TN, brother Butch (Della) Chambers of Pioneer, TN, and Michael (Peggy) Norris of Taylorsville, KY; sisters-in-law Sue Delk of Oneida, TN and  Edie Chambers of St. Petersburg, FL; nephews Adrian (Melody) Thompson of Knoxville, TN, Brett (Suzanne) Chambers of Harriman, TN, Travis (Krinki) Chambers of St. Petersburg, FL; niece Heather (Brian) Paul of Knoxville, TN; and several great nephews and nieces, and other family members and friends.  The family would like to extend a ‘special thanks’ to the staff of UT Hospice for providing such excellent care during the last few months of her life. 

Friends may visit with the Chambers family on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 12:00-1:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Brett Chambers officiating. Music will be provided by Justin Wright, and Brett and Suzanne Chambers.

Committal service will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
