Mary Lee Sexton, age 96 of the Paint Rock community, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at her home with her family by her side.
Born on April 9, 1929, in Scott County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Schofield and Opha Sexton and a member of the Paint Rock Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Infant Beatrice Sexton, Ella Mae McQueen and Ivanee Sexton; brothers, Willie, Milford and Fred Sexton; nephews, Rodney McQueen and Freddie Wayne Sexton; great-niece, Amber Sexton and brother-in-law, Robert McQueen.
Mary is survived by her brother, Claude Sexton of the Paint Rock community; nieces and nephews, Jill Davidson and husband Eric of Crossville, Chanel Elam and husband Tony of Goshen, Ohio, Jack McQueen and Gary Sexton and wife Robin all of the Paint Rock community and Shaun Sexton and wife Audrey of Goshen, Ohio; sister-in-law, Janice Sexton of the Paint Rock community and Betty Sexton of Goshen, Ohio; two very special great-great-nephews, Kolt Potter and Gus Terry of the Paint Rock community; caregiver, Amanda Cross. She also leaves many other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Shane Phillips and Bro. Gary Sexton officiating. Music will be provided by Shane and Shonda Phillips.
Burial will follow in the John Freeman Sexton Cemetery in Oneida.
