Mary (Mickie) Emilie Sexton

Mary (Mickie) Emilie Sexton, age 86 of Parkers Lake, KY, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY.  Mary was born in Scott County, TN, on February 18, 1935.  She was the daughter of the late Eamer and Alta Sexton of the Paint Rock Community.

Mary lived life to the fullest, having never met a stranger.  She always kept everyone laughing with her profound sense of humor and quick wit.  She was an avid animal lover, always spoiling her ‘fur babies’ to the best of her ability.  Mary was able to make the most and have fun at any job at which she worked and made many friends along the way.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son:  William ‘Bryan’ Laxton; brother:  Eamer Sexton, Jr.; and sisters:  Lillian Jeffers, and Berta Sexton.

Mary is survived by her brother:  George Harold Sexton and wife Ruth; two daughters:  Donna Wojnaroski and husband Alan, Jeane Jo Laxton Jeffers; daughter-in-law:  Patricia Laxton; grandchildren:  Lisa Underwood, Bobbi Roberts, Angela Gulley, Brynae Miley, Michael Newport, Lynette Keeton, Daniel Buttram, Tracy Shoopman, Darren Newport, Tess Laxton, and Megan Laxton; 33 great grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

Friends and relatives may visit with the Sexton family on Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at the Oneida Church of God, 1100 Paint Rock Rd., Oneida, TN  37841, with Rev. Charlie Craig officiating.
