Matthew Hutson

Edward Matthew Hutson, age 50, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025. He was born in Scott County, TN to Hoyal and Phyllis Hutson on July 9, 1974. Matthew was a born again Christian and loved Jesus. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #670.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Johnnie and Ruthie Hutson and John and Thelma Silcox; his father, Hoyal Hutson; nephew, Austin Jackson; brothers-in-law, James Bradley Phillips and Jason Lee Adkins.

Matthew is survived by his mother, Phyllis Silcox Hutson; brothers, Galen Hutson and Phillip Hutson; sisters, Shannon and husband Conrad Vaughan, April West, Marlisha Phillips and Natasha Hutson; nieces, Paige Hutson, Ashlee Bertram, Felisha Jackson and Madison Jeffers; nephews, Bryce Vaughan, Paxton Hutson, Jobe Hutson, Easton Jeffers, and Orion Taylor; also survived by one aunt who he was always close to, Trula Johnson; and a host of other family members and friends.

Friends may visit with the Hutson family on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 5 p.m. until time of the Masonic service at 7 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home. 

Funeral service will be on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 12 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Carlie Duncan officiating. Music will be provided by the Antioch Church choir.

Committal service will follow in the Hoyal Hutson Cemetery in the Straight Fork community. Pallbearers will be his brothers, sisters, and nephews.
