Matthew Damon 'Matt' Edwards Obituary

Matthew Damon ‘Matt’ Edwards, age 28, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2020. Matt is the loving son of Greg Edwards and Karen and David Woodard.

Matthew was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Glen Griffith and William Hunt; and cousin: Garrett Edwards.

Matthew left behind his parents: Greg Edwards and Karen and David Woodard; sisters: Jessica (Jake) Phillips, Tash (Trever) Morrow and Ariel Woodard; his son: James Cannon Edwards; fiancée and mother of his son: Emily McGee; grandparents: Rose Ann Hunt, Linda and David Cross, and Carl and Rita Edwards; nieces: Jayla and Jaci Phillips, Raylyn Morrow and Nevaeh Cooper; nephews: Xaiden Cooper and Maverick Morrow; Uncles: David Edwards, Glenn Griffith, Kevin Griffith and Albert Griffith; and many more relatives and friends.

Matthew was baptized a Catholic and later on changed his religion to Undenominational. Matt loved going to church every Sunday and enjoyed life so much. He was the best loving son, father, fiancé, brother, grandson and uncle. His son, Cannon, was his pride and joy. He loved wrestling so much that he had been training to be a professional wrestler. This was his life-long dream. Matthew will be deeply missed by so many.

Friends may visit with the Edwards family on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Griffith officiating.

Committal service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Carson Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Fuzz Carson, Tanner Burchfield, Logan West, David Edwards, Jake Phillips and Trever Morrow.

With the Health Guidelines in place at this time, we ask that you be mindful of the social distancing measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control. Masks are required.
