Milford Smith, age 81 of Oneida, TN passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at his home. Born in Oneida, TN on July 26, 1941, he was the son of the late Alford and Elva Smith.

Milford worked at I.H. in Ft. Wayne and returned home and worked at Arvin and Tibbals Flooring. At the time of rising oil prices, he had the Gulf gas station during the trucker’s strike in the late 1970s and was the only place in the area able to provide fuel. He went to school at Burchfield and Oneida and served 20 years on the Huntsville Water Board. He loved all UT sports, both boys and girls, as well as he always got excited at deer season. He also drove the church bus for Waynedale Baptist Church in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Everett, Claude, Lonnie, Clay, Leon, JD, Herbert, Ralph, and Archie and sisters, Ruth, Edna, and twin sister, Mildred.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Weltha Smith; brother, Arvilee Smith; children, Sheri Elliott, Sheila Johnson (John), and Doug Smith (Shelby); grandchildren, Brittney, Corey, Logan, Holly, and Heather; great grandchildren, Corey, Jr., Bailey, Brantley, Aubrey, Brooklyn, Kara, Zaygan, Tessleigh, Octavia, and Zaltana; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. The family extends a special thank you to Brenda Smith and Kendra of Quality Hospice.
