Obituary

Mr. James Robert Lawson of Huntsville, TN went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 2, 2023. James Robert was born on September 30, 1932, to parents Starling Lawson and Artie Mae Lloyd Lawson of Norma, TN. James Robert was blessed with a long life of 90+ years.

James Robert was an entrepreneur, great husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Having a sixth-grade education, he successfully ran, along with his loving wife Sarah of 59 years, two businesses providing for their family. He loved family gatherings, fishing and working in wood. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. James Robert was a member of Norma Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, loved ones who've preceded him are his first wife, Betty Rose Lloyd Lawson; his son, Bobby Ray Lawson; daughter, Judy Rose Lawson; sisters, Loudina Lawson, Doris Ann Lawson, Artie Louise Lawson, Shelma Ruth Byrd Ward, Imogene Lawson Duncan Perkins, and Rosa Lee Lawson Burress; and brother, Charles David Lawson.

James Robert is survived by wife, Sarah Carson Lawson; children: son, Benny Joe Lawson and wife Barbara Ann; daughters, Carrie Lou Kirby and husband Terry, Karen Diane Lawson Hammock and husband Claude Dean, all of the Fairview Community, daughter, Sarah Jane Lawson Carson and husband Carl of Clinton, TN; grandchildren, Tracy Lawson, Eric Lawson, Joann Lawson Foster, Betty Jo Lawson Reed, Josette Lawson, Bobbie Jo Lawson Rose, Robert Wade Carson, Elisha Rose Carson, James Aaron Ross, Carlissa Renee Carson, Jessica Elaine Carson Duncan, Meagan Jane Carson Beets, Jonathon Dean Hammock, Katrina Diane Hammock; several great and great-great grandchildren; siblings: brother, James William Lawson and wife Melissa of Low Gap; sisters, Anna Joyce Lowe of Fairview, Marilyn Kay Anderson of Redkey, Indiana, Lilly Mae Lowe and husband Moses of Fairview, Frances Faye Harness and husband Curtis of Annadell and several nieces, nephews, and others who loved him.

Friends may visit with the Lawson family on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Carlie Duncan and Bro. Carl Carson officiating. Music will be provided by Carlie Duncan and singers.

Committal service will follow in the Lawson Family Cemetery in the Fairview community. Pallbearers will be: Eric Lawson, Tracy Lawson, Wade Carson, Jonathon Hammock, Aaron Ross, and Gabriel Carson. Honorary pallbearers will be: Claude Hammock and Terry Gibson.
