Noble Smith, age 90, departed this life on October 4, 2022, at his home with his family by his side. Born on November 20, 1931, he was the son of the late H.D. and Rilda (Burke) Smith. Noble was a member of the White Rock Church in Huntsville, TN.
Noble enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors, especially at the property and cabin he owned at Parchcorn. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War period and was the manager of Charles D. Roberts Co. (The Hickory Mill) for over 30 years as well as owning his own independent trucking company, N.E. Smith Trucking Company.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Joyce (Daugherty) Smith; Brothers Howard Smith, Othel Smith (Lena), Earl Smith (Magdeline), Odie Smith (Dorothy), and Hurstle Smith (Rita). Sisters, Elsie (Smith) Tolliver (Jim), and brother-in-law Wendell Harrell.
Noble is survived by his daughter Debbie Jo Smith (Rocky Webb), sister-in-law Glenna Harrell, brother-in-law Glen Daugherty (Judy). Special friends; Bob and Alfredia Duncan, Ron Smith, and Phyllis Inman. Several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank his caregivers; Tabi Smith, Phyllis Inman, Eva Walters and Karen Walters, and Sabrina Chambers. Brenda Smith with Quality Hospice Care and the employees of Amedisys Healthcare especially Wendy Yancey.
Noble was a member of the Oneida Masonic Lodge #695, Kerbela Shriners #138 and the American Legion Post # 136. Noble was given recognition from the Tennessee Colonel, Kentucky Colonel, and one of the organizational members of the Scott County Conservation League.
Noble's wishes were cremation.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Carson Memorial Park with Bro. Donnie Smith officiating. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.
