Oscar Curtis ‘Bud’ Keeton, age 87, of Oneida, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on April 22, 2026. He was born on February 18, 1939, the son of the late Seamon and Mable Buttram Keeton.
Bud grew up in the Huntsville area and was a member of White Rock Baptist Church. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force. Following his service, he dedicated 32 years to working at Huntsville Elementary School, where he made a lasting impact on generations of students.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Stephen Keeton, Roy Keeton, and Gaylon Keeton, and his sister, Nola Sorrell.
Bud enjoyed spending time in nature. He loved Jeep riding, working on and riding motorcycles, and hunting for petrified rocks.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gloria Kay Carson Keeton; his sons, Monty Keeton and wife Lynette and Shane Keeton and wife Mary; his grandchildren, Hunter Matthews (Dustin), Logan Martin, Audrie Vanover (Dalton), Kynlie Frogge and Cam Keeton; and several great-grandchildren, including , Raylee, Trooper, Everly, Boone and Kaylynn.
He is also survived by his sisters Wanda Foust, Lorine Goodman (Murl), Leann Phillips (Jack), Eloise Byrd, Bonnie West, Frances Bruce (Conley), Barbra Robbins (Carl) and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Cecil Cemetery in the Cherry Fork Community with Bro. Jim West officiating. Pallbearers will be: Shane Keeton, Cam Keeton, Dalton Vanover, Troy Goodman, Dustin Mathews, and Jason Mayse.
