Patricia Ann Lay

Patricia Ann Gibson Lay, age 57, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the University of TN Medical Center in Knoxville, TN, with her loved ones by her side.  Born December 20, 1967, in Oneida, TN, she was the daughter of Rena Goad Gibson and the late Bobby Gibson.

Patricia or ‘Trish’ as most knew her by, loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially her granddaughter:  Addison.  She was her pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by her husband:  Mark Lay; father:  Bobby Gibson; brother:  Kenny Gibson; father and mother-in-law:  Rev. Odus and Mildred Lay; brother-in-law:  Jerry Lay.  

Patricia is survived by her mother:  Rena Goad Gibson of Winona; children:  Mark Anthony Lay of Capital Hill, and Christina Muse and husband John of Winfield; brother:  Bobby Gibson, Jr. of Winona; grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart:  Addison Phillips, Garrett Muse and Dalton Muse; her fiancé John ‘Stick’ Morrell of Ditney Trail; nieces and nephews:  MaKayla, Houston, and Kendrick Gibson, Ashley and Mariah Griffith, Mary Alice and Jason Lay, Anastasia Crowe, Eric Lay, Amy Jeffers, Melinda Duncan and Reece Goad; sister-in-law:  Linda Gail Austin and husband E. Ray; brothers-in-law:  Paul Lay and wife Norma Jean, David Lay and wife Teresa, Sonny Morrell; sister-in-law, Darlene Lay and many other special family members and friends.

Friends may visit with the Lay family on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Carlie Duncan and Bro. Mark Muse officiating.

Committal service will follow in the Adkins Cemetery in Pioneer, TN.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.
