Patricia "Patty" Jeffers

Patricia “Patty” Anne Jeffers departed this life on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at home surrounded by loving family. Born June 30, 1964, she was the daughter of the late Earnest Alexander Banks and the late Wanda and Ben Newport. She was a wife, aunt, friend, and teacher to anyone who had the joy of being around her. 

Patty served her community as a special education teacher until her retirement from the Scott County School system.

Patty was a member of the Buffalo United Baptist Church of Winona. Each and every member of the church held a special place in Patty’s heart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by parents-in-law, Crawford and Beulah Jeffers; brother, Jimmy Banks; sister, Missy Gibson; brothers-in-law, Brent Robinson, Phillip Jeffers, and Greg Jeffers; sister-in-law, Nona Jeffers. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Jason Jeffers; sisters, Lisa Banks, Annie (Joey) York, and Lora Lay; sister-in-law, Ruby Robinson; brothers-in-law, Homer (Phyllis) Jeffers, Jerry Jeffers, Roger Jeffers, and Gary Jeffers; special nephew and niece, Canaan and Clairee Lay, that she loved like her own. She will be dearly missed by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family of her heart.

Friends may visit with the Jeffers family on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Griffith, Bro. Don Hughett, and Bro. Carlie Duncan officiating. Music will be provided by Jerry Day and the Winona Baptist Church choir.

Committal service will follow in the William Newport Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Canaan Lay, J.R. Bruce, Titus Slaven, Dustin Slaven, Joey York, Nicky Duncan, and Logan Duncan.
