Paul Chambers, age 89, passed peacefully at his daughter’s home with family by his side on June 9, 2021, at 04:52 p.m. He was born March 21, 1932, in Winfield, TN to the late Ancil and Nell Simpson Chambers. He served in the United States Army from 1957-1959. Paul was an ordained Baptist preacher that traveled many places and many miles to preach God’s Word, and many souls were saved. He worked in strip and coal mining, construction, driving heavy equipment, and building Jim Barna Log Homes, but mostly cutting timber and logging up to the age of 80. He loved to coon hunt and fish.
Paul is preceded in death by his wife: Doris Mae Grimes Chambers; son: Paul Chambers, Jr.; father and mother-in-law: B. P. and Della Grimes; sisters: Emma Swint, Zona Faye Chambers, and Beverly Letner; brother: Granville Chambers; brothers-in-law: Clyde, Jay, Eb and Pearl Grimes, Royce Jones, and Ed Swint; sisters-in-law: Patricia Chambers, Shirley Chambers, Berneice and Geraldine Grimes; son-in-law: Aaron Jones; granddaughter: Cherry Jean Patterson; great grandchild: Kenzley Brummett; nephew: Frankie Baker; niece: Morgan Letner; son-in-law: James Craig; and daughters-in-law: Janice and Naomi Chambers; and an infant brother and sister.
He is survived by sons: Anthony (Diana) Chambers of Helenwood, Bryan (Melody) Chambers of Oneida, Jeff Chambers of Winfield, Ancil Dewayne Chambers, Sr., and Leamon Joe Ball; daughters: Anita Craig of Oneida, Connie Burke of Helenwood, Lois Jean Chambers, and Bertha Chambers Jones; brothers: Ancil Chambers, and Donald Earl (Diane) Chambers, all of Oneida; sister: Sharon (Russell) Ellis of Oneida; sister-in-law: June Grimes; special uncle: Dexter (Juanita) Chambers of IN; special cousin: Bill Stines of Dover, TN; 21 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; special friends: Tommy King, Tony King, Kenny and Lil Justice, and Bill Stephens; and many other family members and friends.
Friends may visit with the Chambers family on Saturday, June 12, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Blankenship and Bro. Clay Kidd officiating. Music will be provided by Nancy and Doyle Smith, and granddaughters: Amber Newman and Ashlynn Potter.
Committal service will follow in the Winfield Cemetery in Winfield, TN. Pallbearers will be his sons: Anthony, Bryan, and Jeff, and grandsons: Adam, Chris, Drew, Paul Keith; great grandson: Logan, and special friend: Kenny.
