Obituary
Pernie Harness Morrell Shelton, age 83 of Pioneer, TN, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida, TN. Born May 24, 1939, in Scott County, she was the daughter of the late Walter R. and Ardilla Harness. She was a long-time member of the Antioch Baptist Church, and a member of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands: John Edward Morrell and Foster Mack Shelton; sisters: Bernice Marlow, Edith and Loraine Harness; brothers: Don and Chester Harness.
Pernie is survived by her children: Sonny Morrell, Bea Golden, Peggy Duncan and husband Carlie, and John ‘Stick’ Morrell and Patricia; grandchildren: Stefine, Nick, Charatie, Sonny Jr., and Pernie Leighann; great grandchildren: Chelsie, Logan, Hannah, J. D., Carlie, Kendall, Hope, Seth and Zechariah; great grandchildren: Levi, Bailynn, and Jedidiah; brothers: Curtis Harness and wife Francis, and Clyde Harness and wife Joyce; special friend: Joe; special niece: Carmin; and many other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit the Shelton family on Sunday, January 15, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Carlie Duncan and Bro. Pete Norman officiating. Music will be provided by her grandchildren.
Committal service will follow in the Botts Cemetery.
