Phyllis Jean West

Phyllis Jean (Allen) West, age 64, of Oneida, TN, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025, at her home. Born on April 23, 1961, she was the daughter of the late John and Alene Allen. She was a member of Pine Creek Baptist Church for 32 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Johnny Allen and wife Wilma, Joe Allen and wife Pat, Robert Allen and wife Annie; nephews, Ronald and Donald Jeffers; great nieces, Aleasha and Jamie Hill; great nephew, Darron Jeffers; mother and father-in-law, W.O. Jr. and Shirley West; and nephew-in-law, Paul Earles.

Jean is survived by her husband of 42 years, Mike West; sisters, Barbara Jeffers and husband Thermon of TN, Judy Baird and husband Rodger of KY; nephews and nieces, Marshal, Bill, Kenny, and Regina Allen, Rick Jeffers, Jolynn Hill, Beth Byrd, Sarah Everman, Katie Bond, Ann Coffee, Robbie Allen, Becky Bishop, Melissa Bishop, Donna Feltner, Dwayne Baird, Miranda Earles; brother-in-law, Jeff West and wife Virginia; nephew, Josh and Trish West; niece, Rachel and Cameron Knight; special cousin-in-law, Marvin West; special great-great nieces that were just as our own, Kailyn Blevins and Abby Hill; a multitude of great-great and a few great-great-great nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

Jean leaves a host of special friends and church family (not just Pine Creek), fellow co-workers at First National Bank, First Trust Bank, Your Drug Store and all the special people she encountered at State Farm Insurance with Roger and Karen Baldwin.

We would like to give a special thanks to the groups of caregivers in her almost 7 year battle with cancer: Fort Sanders Hospital, Thompson Cancer Center Knoxville, Dr. Norman, Dr. Clark, and Dr. Darrel, Faye that made signing in pleasant, and Lucy Parman that navigated us through it all, Quality Home Care, particularly Brenda Smith and Renee Gaddes, and great niece, Elizabeth Phillips that cared for Jean at home these last months. Definitely not last but thanks to Jesus for dying on the cross for our sins so we were able to face this bump in the earthly road.

Friends may visit with the West family on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Marcum officiating with the obituary being read by Bro. Guy Ainsworth. Music will be provided by the Pine Creek United Baptist Church choir.

Committal service will follow in the Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery in Oneida. Nephews and great nephews will serve as pallbearers.
