Rema Maxine Jones Kidd, age 95, of Oneida, TN, passed away on December 25, 2024, Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center. Born on September 15, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Emily Reed Jones.
Maxine worked at Arvin Industries in the late 1960’s into the early 1970’s. Around 1973, until about 1993, she worked at Mountain Valley Head Start Program, driving the van delivering the children to the learning centers, then assisted in teaching, as well.
She was a born again Christian, and a member of the Hazel Valley United Baptist Church. She was very selfless and caring for each and every family member all through her life. Maxine also loved for the family to gather together on holidays and other events, and loved to cook meals for all the family. She also enjoyed working in the garden and growing flowers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Hollins Benjamin (H. B.) Kidd; and brothers: Royce, Manson Glenn and Holland C. Jones.
Maxine is survived by her daughters: Karen Diane Norris, Marilyn Sue Payne, and Marcia Wynne Wilson; son: Jamie Brian (J. B.) Kidd; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sister: Phyllis Jones Massey of Jacksboro, TN; as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; special family and friends: nephew: Jerry Duane Kidd, Linda Erwin Strunk, Lisa Coffman, Karen Sanders, Leroy Phillips and Pamela McFadden.
The family would like to extend a Special Remembrance to each and every member of the team at Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center for their care of our precious mother.
A private graveside service for immediate family will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery with Bro. David Brewster officiating. Music will be provided by the East Robbins Baptist Church Choir.
Pallbearers will be: Deon Brice Ipock, Kevin Reid Massey, Johnnie Wayne Baird, Jr., Johnnie Wayne Benjamin Baird, Kenneth Travis Payne, and Brenton Sean Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Steven Hugh Massey and Russell Wade Wilson.
