Retha Chambers Laxton

Retha Chambers Laxton, age 79 of Huntsville, TN, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022, at her home.  Born September 29, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Lucille Laxton Chambers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband:  Otis Laxton; sisters:  Betty Crabtree, Jean Bridges, Anna Ruth Sexton, and Frankie Lay; brother:  Harold Chambers; brothers and sisters-in-law:  Amos Bridges, Norman Phillips, James Coffey, Leon Laxton, Lothery Laxton, Milford (Ducky) Laxton, Vergie Laxton Marhle, Vivian Dean Carson, Ernest Woods, and Don Ruthenberg; father and mother-in-law:  Alonzo and Elsie Laxton.

Retha is survived by her sons:  Timothy Mark and Troy Lee Laxton; grandchildren:  Markie Jade Newport and husband Eric, McKenzie LaRoche and husband Kevin, Raleigh Laxton, Justin Todd, Jordan Lee, Heather Beard, and Payton Schrock; great grandchildren:  Owen, Kaleb, Jaeda, Deric, Kade, Riley, Farrah, Guy, Tabitha, and Illy Anna; brother:  Butch Chambers and wife Dorla; sisters:  Christine Bridges and Leslie, Phyllis Coffey, and Sandra Hargett and husband Tom; sisters-in-law:  Tinah Ruthenberg, Inez Troxell and husband Jack, and Barbara Woods; as well as many other family members and friends.

Friends may visit the Laxton Family on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Jim West officiating.  Music will be provided by Jaeda Newport.

Committal service will follow in the Laxton Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be:  Kaleb Newport, Jordan Laxton, Justin Laxton, Deric Newport, Payton Schrock and Trent Coffey.
