Rev. Dolphia (Dolph) Cantrell, age 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Johnson County, Kentucky on January 28, 1943.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth Lemasters Cantrell; one infant sister, Janes Marie Cantrell; mother and father-in-law Lonzy and Margie Marie Massengale Byrge; daughter, Ruth Marie Cantrell Wright. He loved the Lord with all his heart. He also loved to help people with what they needed help with, loved his family, he loved to talk about the Lord, hunting, fishing, and cooking.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Nancy Byrge Cantrell; son, John Matthew Cantrell, both of Helenwood, TN; one grandson, Joshua Ray Cross and wife Yvonne of the Black Creek Community in Robbins, TN; five great grandchildren; four sisters, Deletha (Glen) Blevins of Huber Heights, Ohio, Jenny (Bernie) Hamilton of Yellow Springs, Ohio, Charlotte (Jim) Eyler of Waynesville, Ohio, Donna (Donald) Null of Fairborn, Ohio; three brothers, Ollie Jim (Wanda) of Nancy, Kentucky, John Tollie (Cheryl) of Seaman, Ohio and Wallace Lee (Teresa) of Augusta, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Vickie Byrge Shank of Enon, Ohio; many other family members and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of Grace Primary, Hospice of Jamestown and the many others that took care of Dolph.
Friends may visit with the Cantrell family on Monday, March 27, 2023 from 7 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 8 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Lawrence Blevins officiating.
Committal service will be on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 12 noon in the Cecil Cemetery in Helenwood. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
