Sammy Craig Walker

Sammy Craig Walker, age 64 of Robbins, TN, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025, at his home with his loving family and friends by his side.  Born  February 23, 1961, in Morgan County, TN, he was born to the late Naomi Jennings Newport and Nathaniel Newport, but was raised by his grandparents:  the late Mary Elizabeth and Thalbert Jennings.

Sammy was saved at a young age and enjoyed going to Church and singing.  He loved fishing, training dogs, and spending time with family and friends.  

In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by his sisters:  Jane Griffin, Teresa Smith; and his mother and father-in-law:  Marshall and Sheila Bertram.

Sammy is survived by his wife of thirty years: Wendy Sue Bertram Walker; children:  Erika, Katurah, Madison and Wyatt; brothers:  Larry (Cindy) Walker, Kevin (Janetta) Newport, and Michael (Zelma) Newport; sisters:  Geraldine Brown, Phyllis Turner Deborah and Keith Massengale, and Virginia Turner; brothers-in-law:  Jack (Shawna) Bertram, and Mark Bertram; sister-in-law:  Jill (Keenan) Damron; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends.  The family would like to extend a special ‘Thanks’ to Quality Hospice Nurse,  Brenda Smith and CNA, Renea Gaddes for the care given to our loved one.

Friends may visit with the Walker family on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. David Walker, Bro. Steve Gadd and Bro. Wyatt Buckert officiating.

Committal service will follow in the Concord Cemetery in Robbins, TN.
