Scotty L. Carson

Scotty L. Carson, age 83, of Oneida, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, January 9, at the Big South Fork Medical Center surrounded by his family.  

He was the son of the Late Howard and Emma Carson of Oneida.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Vicky Jo Carson; sister, Shirley Laxton, and niece Teresa Laxton all of Oneida.

Scotty is survived by his wife of 45 years,  Kathy Carson, sons;  Richard Carson and wife Margie, Danny Carson, Michael Carson and wife Jackie, Chris Carson and wife Kayla all of Oneida; 8 Grandchildren:  River Chase Carson and wife Marissa of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Morgan Jacobs and husband Benji of Oneida, Lindsey Carson of Oneida, Raven Boles and husband Daniel of Robbins, Austin Carson, Ryder Carson of Oneida,  Abel Carson and Enoch Carson of Oneida; 10 great-grandchildren,  William, Henley, Keegan, Brady, Jovie, and Crew Jacobs, Jonah Boles all of Oneida, Everett, Reagan, and Amelia Carson of Colorado Springs; sister, Ola Mae Carson of Oneida; two special friends, Sam King of Oneida and Tommy Thompson of Huntsville.

Scotty was a dedicated employee of the Scott County Road Department for many years and served as the General Manager of The Hickory Mill, where he was respected for his hard work and commitment to the community.

Friends may visit with the Carson family on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Ashley Ellis and Bro. Kevin Sexton officiating. Committal service will follow in the Howard Carson Cemetery on Scotty Carson Lane in Oneida.
