Sharon Foster Obituary

Sharon Ann Foster, 77 of Oneida, Tennessee, departed this life surrounded by family, on the 13th day of January 2023, at Park West Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Velma Chambers, her daughter, Bobbie Jo Schoenbachler, and granddaughter, Megan Nacole Buttram.

She is survived by her three daughters, Kris G. Taubert, Toni L. Buttram, and Traci J. Sexton and husband, Patrick. Nine grandchildren, Derek Taubert, Scott Taubert and wife, Jordan, Marcus Taubert, Josh Buttram and wife, Jessi, Jacob Buttram and fiancé, Tanya, Tanner Sexton, Trace Sexton, Mikayla Sexton, and Mia Jaden Sexton. Ten great grandchildren, Dean, Tinlee, Briggs, Ally, Zoey, Maddox, Baylee, Harper, Reagan, and Sadie Mae. One beloved sister and favorite brother-in-law, Dawn Smith and husband, Ron, nephew, Shane Smith and wife, April, nieces Jodi Allen and husband, Doug, and Jessica Cross, and four great nieces, Jade, Haley, Jillian, and Addison.

Sharon could best be described as persistent, dedicated, and hard working. She depended upon no one except herself and her savior. She was saved and baptized at the age of 11 and was a long-time member of West Robbins Missionary Baptist Church, where she often played the bass guitar, and made sure her daughters attended with her and came to know Jesus. For thirty-eight years she worked for Tibbals Flooring Company, most recently known as Armstrong Flooring Company.  She was dependable and seldom missed work. Her work ethic was apparent at home, too. Her lawn was always groomed, the plants and flowers were always in beautiful bloom and properly pruned. In addition to her love of family and yard work, she had three other loves: horses, Elvis, and chocolate chip ice cream. Her favorite birthday present came on her 70th birthday, a trip to Graceland in Memphis. She never mentioned it much, but she loved to help others in her quiet manner. She was faithful in her donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Though Sharon may not be with us today in body, she will forever be with us in our hearts and memories.
