Sharon Kay Stanfill, age 80, of Oneida, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Oneida Nursing Home and Rehab Center after a long illness.  Born March 13, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Millard and Etta Marcum Stanfill.

She grew up in Oneida where she was a member of Pine Creek United Baptist Church but spent most of her life in Knoxville. She became a devoted member of Fair Havens Missionary Baptist Church and began working in the mission field. She took many missionary trips, including one to Africa, and faithfully returned to Oneida for years to teach Vacation Bible School at Pine Creek. She eventually retired back to Oneida where she joined New Haven Baptist Church. She spent her life as a devoted aunt known as ‘Shawney’ to her nieces and their friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister Marian Burk, and sister Etta Fay Stanfill, and many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Sharon is survived by her brother-in-law:  Edward Burk of Oneida; nieces:  Tonja Burk of Knoxville and Jodi Morrow and husband Adam of Oneida; great-nieces:  Jessy Morrow of Parker Colorado, Sarah Morrow and Ava Morrow, both of Oneida; one great-great nephew:  Ian Morrow of Parker, Colorado; a special double first cousin:  Mearle Marcum of Oneida; and many other relatives and friends.

Her family would like to thank the many special and devoted caregivers who helped Sharon in the final years of her life, both private and those at the Oneida Nursing Home, and Quality Hospice.
