Skye Ashley Lloyd, age 47 of Oneida, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023, at the Big South Fork Medical Center with his family by his side. Born January 19, 1976, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Skye had a strong faith in the Lord and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he served as an AWANA team leader for many years.
Skye is preceded in death by his grandparents, Hubert Duncan and Virgil and Irene (Triplett) Lloyd, uncle and aunt, Tommy and Loretta Lloyd, and cousin, Lori (Lloyd) Newport.
Skye is survived by his parents, Joey and Jane Lloyd, brother, Tyler Lloyd and wife Allison, grandmother, Phyllis Duncan, nephews, Luke and Cash Lloyd, uncles, Bill Duncan and wife Melanie, Jim Lloyd and wife Elaine, Marshall Lloyd and wife Jetta, David Lloyd and wife Anna, cousins, Ryan Duncan (who was like a brother) and wife Stephanie, Leigh (Duncan) Culver and husband Blake, Tami (Lloyd) Edwards and husband David, Tomi (Lloyd) Thompson, Natalie (Lloyd) Long and husband Justin, Chase Lloyd and wife Donna, and Jaimi Lloyd and wife Robin, special cousin, Kristi (Duncan) Cornelius (who once hit him in the head with a golf club) and husband Jeff, and Elaine Duncan Payne who brought Skye chicken and dumplin’s, his Tuesday Night Crew, Jamie Thomas, Aaron Terry, Derek Lay, and special friends Chris Lowe, Lynn Phillips and Billy Miller. He is also survived by many, many other cousins, family and friends and his Bethlehem Baptist Church family.
Skye was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and was quick to let everyone know that his beloved Dawgs were back-to-back National Champions and trying for a three peat in 2023. He also loved baseball and enjoyed watching games on the MLB channel, and the Oneida High School Football games.
Friends may visit with the Lloyd family Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until time of the Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Bro. Jason Burress and Bro. Tim Smith officiating. Music will be provided by Jeff Cornelius and Dallas West.
Committal service will follow in the Litton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tyler Lloyd, Ryan Duncan, Jeff Cornelius, Aaron Terry, Derek Lay, and Billy Miller.
The family would like to give special thanks to the ER Staff at Big South Fork Medical Center for their care and compassion shown to Skye.
