Velma Kay (Isabel) Day

Velma Kay Isabel Day, age 43 of Huntsville, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville, TN.  Born January 31, 1982, in Oneida, TN, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Wilma Jean Epperson Isabel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her uncle Kenneth Letner, whom she called “Dad”; father-in-law Harley Day, and brother-in-law Harvey Day. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, William Day; son Isaiah Day and fiancée Brittany; daughter Desiree Day; special aunt June Letner, whom she called “Mom”; brothers Fred Isabel, Jerry Isabel, Isiac Isabel and girlfriend Amber; sister Linda Gregory and husband Jesse; special cousin Angie Buttram, who she claimed as a sister, and husband Mike; mother-in-law Kathy Carson; sisters-in-law Keisha Epperson and husband Chuck, Jennifer Lawson and husband Wayne; brothers-in-law Michael Taylor, Chris Day and girlfriend Rosetta; nieces and nephews Ashley Jones and husband Eric; James Isabel and wife Leah; Brittany Isabel, Shealey Isabel and husband Caleb; Zachary Isabel, Shyanna Robbins and husband Lane; Tosha Carver and fiancé Justin, and special niece and nephew Amiteal and Gabriel Strunk, whom she loved dearly and claimed as her own grandchildren; special friends Jeremy Calkins and Raylin West, as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Day family on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Carlie Duncan officiating.  

Committal service will follow in the Love Chapel Cemetery in Robbins, TN.  Pallbearers will include Isaiah Day, Zachary Isabel, Colby Epperson, Jacob Epperson, Josh Posey, and Wesley Cadle.
