Verlin Byrge

Verlin Byrge, age 82 of Pine Knot, KY passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, at his home. Born in Caryville, TN on May 17, 1940, he was the son of the late Daniel and Berthie Overton Byrge. Verlin was saved at an early age, and he was a member of the Church of God.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Decky Lyn Byrge, Dwayne Smith, and Junior Byrge; sister, Glennis Hughett; brothers, Carl Byrge, Eugene Byrge, James Byrge and Berlie Byrge; and brothers-in-law, MJ Hughett and Gaston Williams.

Verlin is survived by his sons, Verlin ‘Barney’ Byrge and wife Sherry, Ray Byrge and fiancé Megan Terry; mother of his children, Alice Byrge; sister, Lorene Williams; and companion, Debra Cole; five grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Byrge family on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Sexton officiating. Music will be provided by The Shepard's Way.

Committal service will follow in the Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery in Oneida. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
