Verna Rose (Mabe) Massey

Verna Rose Mabe Massey, age 82, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023.  Born April 1, 1941, she was the daughter of the late John and Ethel Massengale Mabe.  She was a member of the White Rock Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George W. (Bud) Massey;  her brothers:  Robert and Billy Gene Mabe; sisters:  Verda Gee, Pina June Pemberton, and Nora Thomas; father and mother-in-law:  Chester Olan and Elminia Massey; and dearly loved grandson:  Ricky Griffis.

Verna is survived by her sons:  Perry Mabe and wife Alice of Monticello, KY, and Jerry Massey and wife Debbie of Lenoir City, TN; daughters:  Janis Gerald and husband Roger of Cleveland, TN, Joyce Massey of Oneida, TN, and Terri Lynne Stephens and husband Ron D. of Jamestown, TN; grandchildren:  Angela, Cheyanne, Lucas, Logan, Jessica, Stephanie, Eric Kidd, Eric Massey, Brandon, Bryan, Scotty, Leisha, Billy Jordan, and George Casey; several great-grandchildren, and great, great-grandchildren; her niece, that was more like a sister:  Mary Ethel Marcum and husband Joe; very special friends:  Theresa Norton, Loreane Stephens, Ruth Adkins, Stacha Marlow, W. T. Strunk, and Jerry Ellis; as well as many other family members and friends.

Friends may visit the Massey family on Friday, November 24, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at the White Rock Baptist Church in Huntsville, TN, with Bro. Jim West officiating.   

Committal service will follow in the Fairview Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.
