Walter Kidd Obituary

Walter H. Kidd, age 88 of Cincinnati, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Stillwater Nursing Facility, Covington. Walter was born in Cooperative, Kentucky on September 19, 1935 to the (late) Fred Gilbert & Zula Elsie (Coffey) Kidd; was a musician all his life, performing with Don Boone & The Sandy Valley Boys; sang and played his favorite instrument, the bass guitar, bluegrass and gospel music was his passion; he worked at the Cincinnati Reds as an usher; was a Radio Host on WCPO, Cincinnati; and he truly enjoyed watching WWE wrestling.  

Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Thursa Jessie Fay (Smithers) Kidd in 2017; three grandchildren, Joanna Wethington, Sarah Kopp, and Nathan Dodson; and three brothers, Phillip, Billy, and Jesse Kidd. 

Walter is survived by his children, Zula Ann “Annie” & Cameron Jackson, R.R. & P.R., Carman Wethington, Jackie & Gary Baldwin, Veronica Riley & Joe Florczyk; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Kidd family on Friday, January 12 from 5-7 PM in the chapel of  West-Murley Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be conducted on Saturday at  10:00 AM  at Black Creek Cross Roads Cemetery in Robbins, TN with  Bro. Jamie Duvall officiating.
