Wanda Pearl (Miller) Lay

Wanda Pearl Miller Lay, age 81, of Huntsville, TN, got to see her Jesus face to face, and receive her crown of righteousness on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at her home.  Wanda was born in Campbell County, TN, to the late Rev. Richard and Lana Violet Miller.  She was a member of the Straight Fork Baptist Church for 72 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life of 60 wonderful years, Bobby L. Lay; son-in-law:  Jeffery Boshears; sisters:  Vena Hicks, Maggie Lay, and Iris Angel; brothers:  Joe, Jim, Tom, and Roger Miller; father-in-law and mother-in-law:  McKinley and Ellen Lay.

Wanda is survived by her daughters:  Teresa Boshears of Huntsville, and Angie Woods and husband Daniel of Oneida; son:  Larry Lay and wife Kim of Clinton; grandsons:  Derek Boshears and wife Alichia of Huntsville, Jordan Boshears and wife Cassie of Huntsville, Justin Lowe and wife Beth of Pikeville, KY, and Bryan Lowe of Clinton; granddaughter:  Tasha Neal and husband Dallen of Oneida; special sister-in-law:  Pam Miller; great grandsons:  Kolton Boshears, Jameson Lowe, Clay Neal, Henry Lowe, and Tate Neal; great granddaughters:  Madisyn Maney and Kylee Martin; sisters:  Lois Byrd, and Betty Ayers; brother:  Mike Miller and wife Vickie; sisters-in-law:  Mary Alice Miller, and Devonda Crabtree; special cat, Samson, that she loved so much; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Christmas was bittersweet this year.  On Christmas Eve we lost the most amazing woman.  Ma was so special to us.  If you knew Wanda Pearl and ever talked to her, she would tell you how much she loved her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids!  There was no one like her.  She definitely didn’t care to tell you how she felt about anything, and we loved her for that.  She’s definitely where she wants to be now.  After she lost Pa, she never was the same.  Wish I could be there to see that sweet reunion between them!  We love you, Ma, more than you’d ever know!! Friends may visit with the Lay family on Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Daniel Woods and Bro. Jordan Boshears officiating.  Music will be provided by:  Dallen Neal and family, Laura Beth Lloyd, and Angie Woods.

Committal service will follow in the Lay Family Cemetery in the Straight Fork Community.  Pallbearers will be:  Derek and Jordan Boshears, Dallen Neal, Tommy Byrd, and Timothy and Anthony Miller.  Honorary Pallbearers will be:  Kolton Boshears, escorted by Daniel Woods, Clay and Tate Neal, Bryan and Justin Lowe, Bill Miller and Brad Lay.
