Wendell Earl Anderson Obituary

Wendell Earl Anderson, age 93, formerly of Oneida, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at his home in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born August 6, 1932, in Xenia, Ohio to Earl Sheridan and Golda LeValley Anderson. 

In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his wife, Wilda Dean Claborn Anderson, and siblings Miriam Freeman, Lois Turner, Ronald Anderson and Glenn Anderson. 

He is survived by his beloved children: Daughter, Dr. Debra Anderson and her husband, Scott Sanders of Cincinnati, Ohio; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Sanders and her husband, Devin Ta and great-granddaughter, Mira of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and grandson, Nicholas Sanders of Cincinnati, Ohio; Son, Thomas Anderson and his wife, Johanna of Katy, Texas; grandson, Aaron Anderson and his wife, Chauncey Saurus and great-granddaughter, Winter of Nashville, Tennessee and granddaughter, Megan Anderson of Katy, Texas. Also sister, Kathleen Taylor of Xenia, Ohio, many nieces and nephews and dear friends. 

Wendell graduated from Xenia Central High School in 1950. He earned a BS degree in Animal Science from The Ohio State University in1954 where he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. He was a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army during the Korean War. Wendell was a State Farm Insurance Agent for over 34 years and was a true example of the “like a good neighbor” advertisement. Wendell was always active in youth and livestock organizations. He served as a 4-H advisor, President of the Green County Beef Association, President of the Eastern Limousin Breeders Association, Director of the Ohio Limousin Association and President of the Old Timers Club. He enjoyed raising Limousin beef cattle, collecting Minneapolis Moline tractors and toys and cheering for his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. He was always active in his church. He served as a deacon for many years at East Dayton Baptist Church. After moving to Oneida, he became active at First Baptist Church and cherished the fellowship he found there. 

Friends may visit with the Anderson family on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home in Oneida, TN, 20059 Alberta St., Oneida, TN  37841, with Dr. Sean Lee officiating.

Committal service will follow in the Carson Memorial Park in Oneida, TN.  Pallbearers will be:  Nick Sanders, Aaron Anderson, Roger Baldwin, Curtis Thompson, Jay Stanfield and Johnny Acres.  Honorary Pallbearer will be:  Gene Bond.
