Willard Ray Clowers, age 83 of Robbins, TN, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Born in Dean, TN on November 25, 1936, he was the son of the late Millard and Christine Todd Clowers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Lloyd Clowers, Sammy (Cotton) Clowers and Boyd Clowers; sisters: Lucy Rhea, Edith Clowers and Flora Clowers; father and mother-in-law: Otto and Dora Raines Ellis; and special friend: Bobby Hughett.
He retired from Yates Construction Co. in Knoxville, TN, as a heavy equipment operator. He was saved at an early age and was of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Barbara Ellis Clowers; sister-in-law: Dorleen Loyd; nieces: Jane Bertram and husband Dickey, Regina Burchfield and husband Gary; nephews: Lloyd Lee Clowers and Jimmy Allen Clowers; and many other family members and friends.
Friends may visit with the Clowers family on Thursday, August 13, 2020 in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Guy Ainsworth officiating. Music will be provided by Jimmy and Sarah Byrd.
Committal service will follow in the Black Creek Cross Roads Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Johnny Tate, Eddie Daugherty, Gary Burchfield, Terry Byrd, Wendell Smithers, Kenny Adkins and Hank Phillips.
With the Health Guidelines in place at this time, we ask that you be mindful of the social distancing measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control. Masks are required.
