William Mark Watters, age 58 of Helenwood, TN, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence in Clinton. Born July 19, 1961 in Oneida, TN, he was the son of Bill Watters and the late Sue Gosnell Phillips; and was a member of the New River Baptist Church. Mark retired after 27 years of service at Citizens Gas, and he volunteered at the Oneida Police Department.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by: his step-father: Ernest Phillips; sister: Donna Sue Watters; brother: Otis Dwayne Watters; grandparents: Ruthie Pemberton, Luther and Lorene Gosnell, Gladys McEndree, and Clay Watters.
In addition to his father, Mark is survived by son: Cody Watters; brother Mike Watters and wife Missy; sisters: Tiffany Phillips and husband Dustin, and Stacey Edwards and husband Jeff; step-sister: Tina Jeffers and husband Greg; step-brother: Chris Phillips; many nieces and nephews; friends whom he considered family: Margie Allen, Kim McKinney, and Melvin Jeffers; as well as all the staff at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence in Clinton who treated and loved him like family; and many other family members and friends.
Friends may visit with the Watters family on Saturday, February 29, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at the New River Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Kermit Phillips and Pastor Dilbert Terry officiating. Music will be provided by: Robin Newman and Joe Phillips.
Committal service will follow in the Cut Cemetery in Helenwood, TN. Pallbearers will be: Melvin Jeffers, Kirk Shoopman, Danny Sexton, Randy Kennedy, Joe Phillips and Brian Phillips.
