Wilma Louise (Clark) Claxton

Wilma Louise (Clark) Claxton, age 88 of Helenwood, TN passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the Big South Fork Medical Center. Born in Helenwood, TN on August 11, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Wiley and Ogal Clark. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delmer Claxton; infant son, Gene W. Claxton; daughter, Joyce Griffith; and granddaughter, Melicia Claxton Bowling.

Wilma is survived by her children, Lois Phillips (Kenny), Kelly Claxton, Judy Coward (Randy), Randy Claxton (Felecia), Scott Claxton, Jeanne Carson (Jimmy); brother, Caroll Clark; sisters, Lila Phillips and Janet Cecil; grandchildren, Brian Griffith (Ashley), Keith Griffith (Ashley), Tonya Griffith, Brandie Wisner (Chris), Nikilayna Huling, Ryan Keeton, Lucas Claxton, Skylar Claxton, Isaiah Claxton (Kylee), Kenny West (Savanah), Tealie Hughett (Kevin), Peyton Carson (Beth), Robyn Davis (Andy), Katie Campbell (Robert), Emily Hutson, and Cassidy Hutson; several great grandkids and great-great grandkids; many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Claxton family on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Sexton officiating. Music will be provided by Brian and Keith Griffith.

Committal service will follow in the Carter Cemetery on Helenwood Loop Road. Pallbearers will be: Ryan Keeton, Lucas Claxton, Wyatt Wunderlin, Wesley Wunderlin, Peyton Carson, Isaiah Claxton, Kyle Bowling, and Kevin Phillips.
